We're looking for an outstanding Systems Engineer who combines superb technical knowledge and experience with a demonstrated ability to bring a common sense approach to get the right things done quickly and effectively. We want to bring the very latest technologies and development methodologies to what is traditionally a slow industry.

The successful candidate must have broad engineering experience delivering programs throughout the entire lifecycle to aerospace standards

Responsibilities

Your duties will be wide ranging and varied and will include:

  • Leading Avionics Development work packages
  • Requirements capture, decomposition and traceability
  • Architecture design with performance / complexity / development trade offs
  • Compliance to relevant aerospace standards
  • Fault tree / safety analysis
  • System Simulation
  • Verification programme design
  • Presenting complex system information in an understandable way to all levels of the business
  • Mentoring junior engineers

Basic Qualifications / Experience

  • 15+ years relevant experience which includes Avionics development
  • Understanding of the systems that make up the avionics suite
  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant Engineering discipline
  • Proficiency in SysML
  • Experience designing system of system products
  • Knowledge of software and hardware engineering practices and patterns for the full software / hardware / networks development life cycle
  • Knowledge of relevant aerospace standards (ARP4754, DO-178/254/160)
  • Proficiency in basic coding (Python, C or C++ etc.)
  • Experience with Matlab Simulink
  • Experience in communicating with senior management, as well as technical and business teams to collect requirements, describe product features and technical designs

Preferred Qualifications/Experience

  • Experience of certifying to aerospace standards
  • Masters or PhD in relevant Engineering discipline
  • Experience with building and testing systems on small UAS
  • Understanding of machine learning techniques
  • Experience in data analysis
  • Experience with hardware/software integration in real time and non real time systems
