Cell Engineer

Vertical Aerospace is building technology to revolutionise how people fly. Our mission is to make air travel personal, on-demand and carbon-free.

We are currently entering a phase of rapid expansion with the objective of rapidly bringing competitive products to market. As part of this expansion we are looking for a Cell Engineer to test and interpret data coming from lithium-ion cells.

Responsibilities

Your duties will be wide ranging and varied and will include:

• Testing of lithium-ion cells to pre-determined electrical test procedures
• Testing of lithium-ion cells to other non-electrical testing procedures
• Writing of electrical test procedures in Arbin, MacTest, Bitrode or other applicable software
• Writing of health and safety documentation for testing
• Interpretation of data
• Reporting back to seniors on results and determining next steps

Basic Qualifications / Experience

• 2 to 5 years’ experience in lithium-ion or other applicable technology testing
• Experience in testing cells electrically, thermally, for safety or any other hands-on applications
• Experience of writing and checking health and safety procedures
• Experience in using electrical cell testing equipment and software
• Ability to determine the correct test for a desired outcome
• Some travel, primarily within the UK, will be required for this role to perform and run testing
• Experience with high-voltage systems would be preferred
